The rv 6 is kind of like the inverse of the hall of fame because it is capable of getting into really dark decays. Boss rv 6 works for me. Can t speak to most but tried a tc hall of fame. Happy with the other two tc pedals i own.

You really like it s halo mode it s voiced quite differently from boss shimmer. All of the classic modes hall spring room plate are competent and the shimmer and modulated modes are great for getting some really ethereal decays. If i had to choose between the tc or the boss i d go with the boss. The rv 6 is the complete opposite with a very dark overall timbre in all of its settings.

But not sure how cheap it is. 50 videos play all mix reverb shootout. Also check out digitech s rv 7 and supernatural since they re a bit older they can often be found for much cheaper. The mxr though is my clear winner.

With the rv 6 you get seven different reverb modes. I also think the hall is perhaps a bit more natural but since you like ambiant you might prefer the rv 6 s. Add body and depth to your core tone with standards like room hall and plate dial up swirling richness with the modulate setting or surf it up with a vintage style spring reverb. If you want a comparable multi mode standard size digital reverb stomp box i would recommend the mxr m300 reverb.
